About PFLAG
PFLAG National
PFLAG is a national non-profit organization which began in 1972 with the simple act of a mother supporting her gay son.
Made up of parents, families, friends, and straight allies uniting with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people, PFLAG is committed to advancing equality through its mission of support, education and advocacy. PFLAG has over 350 chapters and 200,000 supporters crossing multiple generations.
PFLAG promotes the health and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons, their families and friends through: support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights.

PFLAG Greater Charlottesville
PFLAG Greater Charlottesville (formerly, PFLAG Blue Ridge) was founded in October 2010, but its board members have been publicly and outspokenly supporting the LGBTQ community in Charlottesville for decades.
Based in Charlottesville, Virginia, PFLAG GC is a chapter of PFLAG National, and is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. PFLAG GC enthusiastically embraces PFLAG National's mission of support, education, and advocacy.
